The HS1122 is an electrode steam humidifier that heats water inside a sealed internal cylinder to produce steam, which the system fan then carries through the ductwork. Because the steam is generated rather than evaporated off a pad, output does not depend on furnace heat, so the unit humidifies whenever it is called for.
